12 teachers of the Bible have applied to Acorn’s Bible Training course for 2021-22 (Acorn Bibliai Képzés, ABK). This means spaces are full – a huge answer to our and your prayers! This training will equip them in teaching the Bible to youth faithfully, relevantly and clearly. Applications have come from youth leaders mainly in the Budapest area, through word of mouth and some through internet promotion.
Flyers about ABK recently went out at a youth and young adults conference hosted by the Reformed Church of Hungary, Csillagpont. As it stands, the course is now full. However if there is more interest or subsequent applications following this event, one other option might include running 2 smaller courses. This would be an exciting dilemma, but we pray God would be at work in the details of any further applications coming through.
Nevertheless, please pray that the word would continue to go out amongst youth leaders in Hungary. We are convinced that many long to grow in sharing God’s Word to teenagers in their churches and beyond. Pray there would be some who even now set aside this as a priority for next year. We long that people would hear of the course and be inspired that they too could benefit through Acorn Bibliai Képzés.
The Béla video – viewable here – has been a great help in explaining the purpose of the course. Applicants seem to have insight into how they long to grow in their Bible-teaching ability, which is a characteristic not always obvious amongst many youth leaders. The prayer is that they would prepare themselves by making appropriate life and time-management decisions for the year ahead. In so doing, that might enable them to complete the course fully as they have committed to. Their first weekend gathering will be on 17th September.
