Acorn students speaking on camps – now!

Throughout July students studying on Acorn’s Bible training (this last year: CORE) will go on camps to preach God’s word to teenagers.

5 students – Szilárd and Saci – have written talks from Mark 14-16, sharing the sacrifice of King Jesus with teenagers from Budapest and Szarvas. Szilárd’s camp with the Sarokkő church runs from 5-10 July. There he will teach, together with Andy Oatridge, his mentor during the week. Saci travels to camp in the southern town of Szarvas 25-30 July to teach together with Anna Poór as mentor. These teenagers are new to Saci, as she and Anna travel as guest speakers. It is also the first camp that Szarvas have organised, since English teams have visited to help over the last 4 summers. Please pray for these camps to be a blessing to those teenage communities and to their leaders.

Geri, Peti and Bogi, 3 more students from the course, are preparing talks to give to their mentors. It was difficult to arrange camp placements in the current circumstances, therefore they will meet with their mentors throughout the month. The goal is that they receive encouragement and feedback in their talk-writing over this month.

We pray that these students would first be changed themselves through what they study and prepare. We pray that the teaching would benefit the teenage hearts listening; also that the talks would be engaging and faithful, and that the application would be specific and compassionate. We pray that God would take care of the details of each camp. Please pray that He would be glorified in the small and the bigger picture this summer!
