Pastors gather for training in Bible-centred preaching with Hungary’s Langham movement; Andy Oatridge from Acorn trains on Teaching the Gospels. More information…
This February, Hungary’s 3-day Langham conference saw over 90 pastors and Bible-teachers gathering again for this excellent opportunity to grow in their preaching skills. It also offered a platform for Acorn to meet and get to know those joining from across the country and beyond the borders who share crucially similar values. One hope is that contacts can be built with pastors and teachers who may work with Acorn in the future.
This year an online programme was put together combining talks, teaching workshops, question & answer time and prayer & worship. Mark Meynell (UK) presented the morning talks, and afternoon sessions provided training on Teaching New Testament Epistles, Teaching the Gospels with Andy Oatridge from Acorn, and Teaching Old Testament Narrative. Whatever the genre, the underlying principle is that God’s Word sets the agenda for the sermon; the preacher is its messenger.
Anyone who teaches the Bible to small or bigger groups in their churches or Christian ministry will benefit from this. The prayer is that through the Langham conference, God’s Word would go out in Hungary and that lives would be changed as a result.
