Andy Oatridge

Acorn Team Leader

Andy has a long-standing love for Hungary for youth work and for seeing the Bible taught well. Together with his wife Zsófi he co-founded Acorn. An Anglican minister and Liverpool supporter, Andy loves having ideas, playing football, watching films and chilling out with his family.

Anna Poór

Acorn staff worker and ABK teacher

Anna’s connections with Hungary and Acorn have grown since her first visit in 2001 to the present day living in Budapest with her Hungarian husband. Her passion is sharing God’s Word with others; her loves include country walks and coffee shops.

Bori Mikola

ABK teacher

Bori is a Reformed pastor working at the Budapest Külső-Kelenföld Church. She has organised several camps with Acorn since 2006 and more recently paths have crossed through the Langham Preaching movement. Bori now works on Acorn’s training team.

Carl Brooks-Plunkett

Safeguarding Coordinator

Since Carl first led on an Acorn camp in 2014 he’s been involved in speaking, leading and organising Safeguarding aspects of camp ministry. Initially working as paediatric nurse, then youth worker, he is now training at Oakhill theological college. Carl enjoys walking, baking and dancing.

Jane Dennis

UK Finance Administrator

Jane, with her husband Tim, became connected to Acorn through friendship with the Oatridge family. Jane now works behind the scenes, dealing with all the finances of the charity. Jane currently lives in Basingstoke with their 5 kids to keep her busy at home!

Juli Berecz

HU Finance Administrator

Juli has been involved with acorn since translating on her first camp in 2008. Alongside her full-time work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, she looks after Acorn’s Hungarian finance and ABK administration. Juli loves the outdoors, and bringing Christianity into real life contexts at work and at home.

Krisztián Tóth

Acorn Marketing leader and ABK Teacher

Krisztián was first involved in Acorn in 2010 when a camp was organised with his church in Vác. Previously an electrical engineer, he is now studying to be a pastor in the Baptist church. Krisztián works part-time with Acorn looking after marketing as well as teaching on the ABK course  In his free time enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons.

Stephen Cartledge

UK Church Relations Coordinator

Stephen has been involved in Acorn camps since the beginning in 2002, and served as a trustee until 2017. He works as a primary school teacher in his hometown, is engaged in youth work at his local church and enjoys fishing, watching sport (especially rugby) and spending time with his family.

Szabó András

Operations Manager

András joined the team in 2021 with the main task of setting up Acorn as a Hungarian charity. His background is in youth work at his church, paramedic and social work, as well as HR work within international companies. Surprisingly he finds enjoyment in reading Hungarian law!

Szilárd Tam

Short Term Mission Partner

Szilárd moved back to Hungary in 2020, after spending 6 years in London, where he found his passion for youth work. He now works with acorn as a Short Term Mission Partner. Szilárd enjoys sports, languages, exploring nature, and deep conversations.

Zsófi Oatridge

Acorn staff worker and ABK teacher

Together with her husband Andy and 3 children, Zsófi moved back to her homeland Hungary in 2013 having lived in the UK for 10 years. She enjoys teaming up with Andy in the Acorn office and beyond, baking with the kids and going for countryside walks.

Rev Tim Dennis

Chair of Trustees

Tim has been involved with Acorn since he first came on a camp in 2005. For many years he ran the finances and has served as a Trustee of the charity since it was formed. He is married to Jane with five children and is a Church of England minister.

Claire Wroe


Claire is married to Gareth and is mum to 5 children living in Sheffield. She and Gareth ran some youth leader training at Vác Baptist church, Claire then led an Acorn camp there in 2017, before becoming a trustee.

Rev David Todd


David has been involved with Acorn since before he went bald. He’s helped lead on camps and been involved with training. He now supports the work as one of the Trustees from where he lives in Cambridge with his family and dog. He is an ordained minister in the Church of England.

Rev Matthew Price


Matthew, currently a Church of England minister in Norfolk, has worked as a solicitor in London, in Uganda coordinating a Christian legal aid project, and for the UK Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship. Matthew loves camping with his family.

Dr Phil Harper


Phil lives in Sheffield and is husband to Janelle and dad to Luke and Yasmin. He is part of a new church plant helping to lead a team working with international students. He is is founder and CEO of technology company Tribosonics Ltd and enjoys running in his spare time.
