Andy has a long-standing love for Hungary, for youth work and for seeing the Bible taught well. Together with his wife Zsófi he co-founded Acorn. An Anglican minister and Liverpool supporter, Andy loves having ideas, playing football, watching films and chilling out with his family.
Together with her husband Andy and 3 children, Zsófi moved back to her homeland Hungary in 2013 having lived in the UK for 10 years. She enjoys teaming up with Andy in the Acorn office and beyond, baking with the kids and going for countryside walks.
Sam moved to Hungary in 2021 with his wife Tirca. After meeting at The Oakes Holiday Centre in Sheffield, he now is continuing the work of Acorn Camps with her. He’s a bit crazy for football and all things music and enjoys a fun creative project.
András joined the team in 2021 with the main task of setting up Acorn as a Hungarian charity. His background is in youth work at his church, paramedic and social work, as well as HR work within international companies. Surprisingly he finds enjoyment in reading Hungarian law!
Bori is a Reformed pastor working at the Budapest Külső-Kelenföld Church. She has organised several camps with Acorn since 2006 and more recently paths have crossed through the Langham Preaching movement. Bori now works on Acorn’s training team.
Jane, with her husband Tim, became connected to Acorn through friendship with the Oatridge family. Jane now works behind the scenes, dealing with all the finances of the charity. Jane currently lives in Basingstoke with their 5 kids to keep her busy at home!
Phil lives in Sheffield and is husband to Janelle and dad to Luke and Yasmin. He is part of a new church plant helping to lead a team working with international students. He is is founder and CEO of technology company Tribosonics Ltd and enjoys running in his spare time.
Claire is married to Gareth and is mum to 5 children living in Sheffield. She and Gareth ran some youth leader training at Vác Baptist church, Claire then led an Acorn camp there in 2017, before becoming a trustee.
David has been involved with Acorn since before he went bald. He’s helped lead on camps and been involved with training. He now supports the work as one of the Trustees from where he lives in Cambridge with his family and dog. He is an ordained minister in the Church of England.
Matthew, currently a Church of England minister in Norfolk, has worked as a solicitor in London, in Uganda coordinating a Christian legal aid project, and for the UK Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship. Matthew loves camping with his family.
